On completion of the course candidates will be registered with SQA, CITB, CABWI or the relevant awarding body and receive certification. They will also receive a Streetworks register ID card that proves registration on the NRSWA register.

NRSWA Streetworks Operative
The NRSWA operative course is for anyone who wants to undertake physical work on roads within the UK. Including excavation, backfill, reinstatement, signing, guarding and using tarmac and cold-lay materials.
NRSWA Streetworks Supervisor
The NRSWA streetworks supervisor training is for people moving in to a supervisor role. A streetworks supervisor is only allowed to monitor the activities of a streetworks operative and cannot undertake any physical work. On every live site, for operatives to carry out work there must legally be a streetworks supervisor present.
Please note: a person can have both the operative and supervisor qualifications which will allow them to supervise and carry out physical operative work at the same time. Previous experience of working on street works or on roads would assist the candidates but it is not essential.
Most candidates will either take an NRSWA operative or street works supervisor course. If you do the operative course it generally consists of units 1-6+9 or 1-7+9 depending on what kind of work you do. Most of our centres include the unit 7 hotlay or unit 14 for supervisors for free (usually £180+vat extra).
A streetworks supervisor course is generally units 1,10-14+16.
Other courses include: NRSWA streetworks reassessments, NRSWA renewals and individual units that traffic management and other companies may use.
